Market History

In the early 1800s The Kutchey Family settled on 40 acres in what is now known as Warren
Michigan — 3202 East 10 Mile Road — to be exact.

Around 1956, Joe Kutchey Sr., the only son of Harold Kutchey, set out to provide the community with farm fresh produce. Joe worked at the GM Tech Center, while farming on the side. It eventually produced enough to support his family, and he became a farmer full-time. For 50+ years, Joe Sr. provided the community with farm fresh, locally grown Michigan produce.

During this time he taught his son David Kutchey how to run the market while he continued to provide the community with fresh vegetables. Since then, David Kutchey has run the market in Warren, and taken care of the day to day responsibilities that come with maintaining his families heritage. This is the Dave you all know and love today!

In June of 2017 Dave expanded the market to it current location of 27825 Ryan Road. Making the move to the new location has provided Kutchey Family Market with a much larger location. This gives our loyal customers a bigger selection of items and a more seasonal specialty market. Our market now carries items from all over Michigan, from Macomb to Traverse City to Benton Harbor.

Upon arrival to Kutchey Family Market, you will notice the vast variety of produce and specialty items from Michigan, as well as some non-native items such as grapes, mangos, avocados and more. This gives
our clientele a one stop shopping experience. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality produce, meats, jams, salsas, milk, eggs and other items.

Kutchey Family Market acquired its beer and wine license in 2022, allowing us to provide the community with craft beers and wine from all over the state. The David Kutchey Family greatly appreciates the support from the community and our loyal customers.

We look forward to continuing to serve for years to come.
